Q: Let’s start with the BASICS! Tell us alittle bit about yourself! Where are you from? What are your hobbies?
SHELBY:Â I'm from a small town in Northern Michigan called Grayling, and now I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan! I love art and body modifications, I am a piercer and tattoo artist and work on a body suspension team called No Gimmicks Needed! I love spending time with my Siamese kitten Jasper, watching anime and making art. I also joke I am a goth Gramma because I love cardigans, candles, incense, sewing, reading, and like cooking for and taking care of people.Â
Q: What inspires you as an artist? When did you know you wanted to pursue art as a career?
SHELBY: Feeling a sense of accomplishment when I make something, seeing other people loving my art and wanting to have my flash tattooed.. makes me feel pretty cool! I always knew I wanted to do art for a living but never thought it would be tattooing. I originally went to college for illustration and animation, but one day I got offered to work in a shop and I fell in love with everything about it. Making people feel more comfortable in their own skin by helping them decorate it makes me feel so good, I love to help people! I've always had body dismorphia because of my size but every tattoo I got made me love my body more, and now I get to help other people love themselves a bit more too.Â

Q: How did you first find out about Sourpuss Clothing? What’s your favorite part about modeling?Â
SHELBY: I've loved Sourpuss clothing for years now, I've always been a little goth bat haha. I often go through the site and daydream about the cute little goth rockabilly house I'll have filled with all the cute stuff in the home section. My favorite part of modeling is finding new styles you'd never try, or putting together outfits to coordinate and matching scenes. It's so creative and it makes me feel so pretty seeing the end results! I also love all of my photography friends and so it's an excuse to see them and hangout!
Q: What are your goals as an artist? Where do you see yourself professionally in 5 years?
SHELBY: I want to make a brand people will recognize! Professionally, in five years I'll have my own tattoo shop and will travel much more to conventions and be guest spots, perhaps even go international and do work. I want to meet other creators like myself and do collaborations, and to just keep growing.Â

Q: One fun/surprising fact about YOU
SHELBY: I love country living! My dad was a true bluegrass redneck and I grew up a country girl. My dream house is a Gothic country farmhouse or Victorian with rocking chairs where I can sip sweet tea in the summer listening to Dolly on my front porch barefoot 🖤
