Tell us more about ROWENA! When did you open and what's changed since then?
Our brick and mortar Rowena opened in 1998 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on the fabulous Whyte Ave shopping strip the best place to shop in Edmonton! Our website www.retroglam.com was launched in 2012 and our biggest change is we just moved 2 blocks east to our new location at 10544A - Whyte Ave.
What did you do before ROWENA?
School, school, more school to get a BFA then straight to having a store so basically I’ve had no life ever : haha!
What's the best part about your job?
Supporting a body positive environment by bringing in clothing XS-4XL as we believe every lady is beautiful this includes men too except they are handsome. I love seeing the smiles of someone finding the perfect fitting wonderful items to help make them feel good and pretty!
What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Hands down Coffee..I am a zombie in the morning
What is the most important appliance in your home?
Well that would be the coffee maker see above
Do you have any irrational fears?
Car washes and closed shower curtains as you never know who may be lurking on the other side
Do you like Sci-Fi movies?
Yes
What's your favorite?
Blade Runner, I love the 40s feel in it and it’s just an amazing movie still to this day
Have you ever walked a cat on a leash?
No everyone knows there is no walking a cat on a leash but I have walked a ferret on a leash..that’s kind of like a cat right?
What are you most excited about in the coming months?
Finishing getting our new location prettied up (we are still working on it..the store will look amazing!) and projects finished in here then re-starting our hair classes we haven’t had since the old location which will also be expanded to include make-up, posing and photography sessions

Support indie business and come on down to your local brick & mortar or shop online with us if you can’t! It’s a hard life for brick & mortars at this economic time so we need all the support we can get to keep our doors open. There is nothing like trying on the clothing for yourself and the personal experience of shopping in a store. And do we love Sourpuss? Yes we do very much!
